Yesterday, I had the honor of delivering the keynote at the CTE NEXT Demo Day in Turin, managed by Zest Group. In my keynote, I highlighted that innovation is deeply human. Trust is the cornerstone of our journey—trust in our energy systems, our policies, our leaders, and, crucially, our future.

This event aimed at highlighting the incredible solutions developed by the participants. More importantly, we explored the profound social and human impacts of the dual energy and digital transition amid climate change.

Event Highlights:
Astreo: Optimizing energy consumption, reducing costs and carbon footprint.
Zerow: Revolutionizing fashion with circular economy principles.
Volvero: Enabling vehicle sharing for a greener future.
Smartotum: Advanced smart home functionalities made affordable.
Wave: Efficient water management reducing consumption by up to 30%.
Nectaware: Precise solar production and climate data tools.
MinervaS: Cutting vehicle emissions with innovative software.
Dedalo AI: AI-driven optimization of software energy consumption.
Supplai: Transforming the food supply chain with digital solutions.

In my speech, I shared experiences from my work in Europe and Africa, emphasizing the importance of inclusive and tailored solutions. Energy access is not just about availability—it’s about quality, reliability, and fairness. Every step of the energy transition must ensure that no one is left behind.

🔑 Key Takeaways:
Energy as a Human Right: It’s essential, not a commodity.
Building Trust: Through transparency and accountability.
Social Justice: The energy transition must benefit the most vulnerable.
Digitalization: Enhancing efficiency while protecting the vulnerable.
Diversity and Inclusivity: Essential for robust, equitable solutions.

A heartfelt thank you to the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergente, the event organizers, Pietro Bianchetta and Chiara Foglietta, Turin’s official for environment and technology, for their dedication and support.

A true example of city leadership in driving innovation, fostering ecosystems, and shaping a sustainable future.
