What is missing to build a truly just, intersectional and inclusive transition? How can academic research be linked with almost 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors? Listen to the newest episode of Energ'Ethic, the podcast on the people who make the just energy transition.

In these troubled times, I am nevertheless pleased to announce that I am an Ambassador for the Fifteenth European Sustainable Energy Week, organised each year by the European Commission.

The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. Three days of policy conference in Brussels offer various learning and networking opportunities. Local events called the ‘Energy Days’, are held across Europe throughout the months of May and June. The EU Sustainable Energy Awards competition leads to a public vote for the citizens’ award. And this year, we could also nominate the most outstanding Women in Energy, to congratulate the fantastic women who are contributing to a climate-neutral Europe by 2050.

I believe that the fight against global warming and for sustainable energy is a battle that we must continue to engage in, also by creating more solidarity and social justice. Everyone must be on board and empowered to make the most sustainable choices. It means that we have to make sure everyone has the right tools and skills and no one is left behind. Our policies must be smart and inclusive enough to deal with our diversity, our personal circumstances, pour different backgrounds and personalities.

Even if this year is unusual for all of us and affects many of our certainties, I am and will be at the Sustainable Energy Week as one of its ambassadors, because we are one and the planet also needs us.

Thanks, to the whole EASME team and congratulations to the European Commission for your commitment!
